Terms of Service
Plain English, on purpose. If anything here is unclear, email us and we will explain it — and probably reword it.
1. Who we are
Streambar is run by Streambar Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17307791, registered office 66 Paul Street, London, England, EC2A 4NA. Email: hello@streambar.live. “We”, “us” and “Streambar” mean Streambar Ltd; “you” means the person using the service. These terms are the contract between you and Streambar Ltd.
2. The service
We host a live overlay for your stream and give you a control panel to run it — your rotating messages, your logo, your colours, the layout and the type. You add the overlay to OBS (or similar) as a browser source, and what you save in the panel appears on your stream. We may change or improve features over time.
While we are small we cap how many accounts can exist. If we are at that cap, sign-up is declined with a message on screen and no account is created — it is not a judgement about you, and the cap moves as we grow.
3. Your account
You sign up with an email address and a password, and the account works straight away. We email you a link to verify the address; until you have clicked it, your overlay URL stays switched off and the OBS download is unavailable — everything else in the panel works. Keep your password and your overlay URL to yourself: anyone with them can change what your viewers see, and you are responsible for activity on your account. One account per person. You must be 18 or over, or have permission from a parent or guardian who accepts these terms on your behalf. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has got into your account.
4. Acceptable use
Do not put anything unlawful, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, deceptive, or infringing into your messages, your logo, the emoji you pick for a message, your brand name, or any other content you upload. This section applies to every field you can type into or upload, not just the message text. Do not use Streambar to impersonate someone, to run scams or unlicensed gambling, or to break another platform's rules. Do not attack, overload or reverse-engineer the service. We may remove an overlay, or suspend an account, where content breaks this section.
5. Your content
Your messages and your logo stay yours. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, process and display that content for the purpose of running your overlay and showing it to your viewers. That licence ends when you delete the content or your account. You confirm you have the rights to whatever you upload.
6. Plans and payment
Free is free: up to 3 rotating messages, the Broadcast, Minimal and Scorebug layouts, your logo and colours. In exchange, one extra message is added to your rotation — “Powered by streambar.live” — and it is locked: it rotates alongside your own messages and cannot be edited, reordered, hidden or deleted on the free plan.
Starter is £9 a month or £90 a year, and removes that message, raises the cap to 5 messages, and adds the other layouts, the font choice, text case and logo placement. The first 50 accounts to subscribe get the founding member rate — £6 a month or £60 a year — for as long as that subscription continues. Pro (£25 a month or £250 a year) is not on sale yet; we will say so here when it is. All prices are in pounds sterling. We always show the price, the currency and the billing period before you pay, and we never move a free account onto a paid plan without you choosing it.
Payments are taken by Stripe on their hosted checkout page. We never see or store your card number. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each month or year until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from Manage billing in the panel; you keep the plan until the end of the period you have already paid for, and the account then returns to the free plan. We do not refund the remainder of a period unless the law requires it, or we have closed your account without cause. Nothing you have saved is deleted when a plan ends: messages beyond the free cap and Starter settings are kept and switch off on the live overlay until you subscribe again.
If a payment fails, Stripe retries it and we email you. Your plan stays on while that happens. If the payment cannot be collected the subscription ends and the account returns to the free plan, again with nothing deleted. If we change a price we will email the address on your account at least 30 days before it affects you.
7. Availability
We run Streambar on a best-effort basis and there is no uptime guarantee. We may take the service down for maintenance, and things occasionally break. Please do not rely on Streambar for anything where an outage would cause you serious loss.
8. Ending it
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account in the panel. It asks you to type your email address, then it is immediate and permanent: any subscription is cancelled, and your overlay, messages, logo and settings are removed. We can suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, and we will tell you why where we reasonably can. If we close your account without cause on a paid plan, we will refund the unused part of what you have paid.
9. Liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim connected with Streambar is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (which, on the free plan, is nothing), and we are not liable for lost profits, lost viewers, lost revenue or indirect loss. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the law of England and Wales — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
10. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will email the address on your account before the change takes effect. Carrying on using Streambar after that means you accept the new version; if you would rather not, you can delete your account.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction — though if you live elsewhere in the UK you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
